A Game of Thrones by George R.R Martin (4/5)

Jon Snow, a bastard from Winterfell, Danaerys Targaryen, the lost Targaryen Queen, Tyrion Lannister, the dwarf, and other fascinating characters all embark on their own personal journeys across Westeros in George R.R Martin's A Game of Thrones. The book A Game of Thrones was written by George R.R Martin and it is the first book in the series A Song of Ice and Fire, this book was published in 1996 and the series is still being written to this day. This book is written unlike any other book because the author tells each chapter from the perspective of a different person. There are around 8 main characters that you follow in the first novel. A Game of Thrones is about the king of the north Ned Stark and how he adapts to the situations around him. On the other side of the world, Danaerys Targaryen is spending time with the Dothraki and she plans to claim what is rightfully hers. This first book in the saga lays the groundwork for what is to come next and it introduces you to many of the characters and their relationships towards each other and it gives you history about what happened in the past. I think that this book is undoubtedly the best book I have ever read, it is fantasy at its finest and it also has amazing character relationships which really make you feel for your favorite characters and what happens to them. Another thing that I liked about this book is that the author is not scared to do anything bad to his characters and he will kill anyone off at any time so you always have to be on the edge of your seat. Overall I think that this was a fantastic read and that it was 5 out of 5 stars, anyone that likes fantasy needs to read this book.
