The book Animal Farm by George Orwell is a fictional allegory that represents the events that took place at the end of world war II. The story is about animals on a farm mimicking the Russian revolution. What starts out as democracy and freedom in disguise soon turns to tyranny, power, and death. The protagonist Napoleon, who symbolizes Joseph Stalin, ends up making a once peaceful farm into a place of famine and fear. I thought this was a really good book, it did a good job of merging the elements of what happened in the real Russian revolution with a fictional story about animals on a farm. Overall it was pretty engaging and straightforward. I think this book was written to show the dangers of propaganda and uneducated people. This serves as a lesson to all people; it teaches us to question authority and to think for ourselves.
