Avatar the Last Airbender The Promise by Gene Luen Yang (4/5)

In part one, it is about what Team Avatar did after the 100 year war. They decided to join the Earth King at his celebration later. While the gang were enjoying themselves during the night on Appa, Zuko told Aang that if he ever started to turn into his father, Aang would End Him. Aang was hesitant at first but then agreed. A year later someone attempted to assassinate Zuko when he was sleeping. Later there was an argument about whether the Four Nations should stay the same or be left alone.

In part two it was mainly about Toph and her metalbending students. When Toph came to check up on the school, she saw that her students were leaving because they got kicked out by a firebending teacher and his students so with the help of Sokka, he and Toph trained the metalbenders so that they can later challenge the firebending teacher so that Toph can get her school back. Meanwhile, Zuko has been going to the prison alone at night to talk to his father for some advice. After a few nights, Suki who was standing guard saw Zuko going to the prison. She was told not to follow him, but secretly she was following him just in case something bad were to happen to Zuko.

In part three it was about The Harmony Restoration Movement failed which led the four nations to plunge back into another war. While sleeping, both Aang and Zuko had the same dream about their destiny of restoring peace and balance to the world. Later, the four nations went into battle and Anng had to stop them, and thankfully, he did. After the battle, Zuko started to wonder what happened to his mother, so he decided to ask his sister Azula for help.

My reaction to the book was mostly shocked because I found it interesting to see all the things that have happened to Team Avatar after the show.

In my opinion, I would recommend the book to anyone who is a fan of ATLA but I would consider watching the show first due to the books mainly taking place after the show ended.
