Beautiful World, Where are You by Sally Rooney (4/5)

The book follows two girls that are close friends who met in college. The author switches between the two perspectives of the girls and goes into great detail about their relationships with their family, their friendships, their relationships, their struggle with life as an young adult, and their struggle with sexuality. My first reaction to the book was that I was a little confused because the characters weren’t fully introduced until around the fourth chapter and the author instead used “she” or “him” instead of names, making it difficult to figure out who she was talking about. But as the book went on I felt as though I could feel what the characters were feeling. As their lives unraveled I felt as though I was in the characters shoes. However, the book is just about the characters lives and there aren’t really any dramatic events or anything so it can be a little boring. Overall it is a great book, it is a little confusing at times and it is a bit boring. This book is more of a beach read or something to read on a long car ride because of the way the perspectives change it makes it difficult to read at small intervals.
