Prince of Singara The Spinner Prince by Matt Lanely

After reading Pride Wars The Spinner Prince by Matt Lanely, I can say that it was a moderately good book. It was a good speed with Lanely revealing the main conflict revealed right away in the first ten pages. The book is about this 13-year-old lion humanoid named Leo about 10,000 years in the future. In this world, there is this pride of lions called Singara and they have built themselves a wall to protect themselves from the Maguar, an older more primitive version of themselves which is seen as barbaric and devilish. In this well-protected society, there is trouble from within since the Khan of the kingdom does not have a son or daughter to pass the throne along to so he must pass it on to his grandson who is only 13 whose name is Leo. But Leo is infected with a disease so he is called a spinner which means that every once in a while his disease will force him to tell stories of fiction. The Singarian society does not take kindly to spinners, banishing them into exile after they have cut their tongue. While Leo must keep his disease a secret his Uncle Tamir tries to kill him in order for him to take the throne from Leo. Although this book is more complicated than I have made it seem it is a good read. Although I myself am not a fan of fiction books I did find this book enjoyable and would recommend it to anyone interested in the book. If you are planning to buy this book I recommend buying the second one aswell since this one is a bit of a cliffhanger and no I am not sponsored by anyone. But I have also read the second book and it is worth it so I highly recommend reading that one aswell. Even though it is set thousands of years into the future it does give you insight of what is going on today. If you do not pay close attention to detail you may miss it but this book is relevant to the problems of today's society. Overall I give this individual book a 4 out of 5 stars only because it is a cliffhanger.
