Color Blind by Tom Dunkel (2/5)

A mixed-race baseball team was unheard of years and years ago. Bismarck presented the first mixed-race baseball/sports team to exist at a high level. This baseball team consisted of Black Americans and White Americans. They went to the most popular semi-pro baseball tournament in America and won. There was only one mixed-race team and that team ended up winning. For a team to have Black Americans on it, it is unheard of for there to be more than 50 people in attendance to watch the game. Satchel Paige, a Black American pitcher was a phenomenal player and drew 600 people in attendance to watch him play. His name was spreading amongst the news and coaches were saying that they wish there was a chemical to change his skin to white so he could play with the big leagues. This book overall was an okay book. The writer really extended his thoughts and overstated the point. He spent chapters just describing random factors that dont really have anything to do with the original plot. The book was extremely hard to stay focused on while reading. Overall I would sum up this book as okay and would not recommend it to anyone that doesn't really like sports. Even being a person that enjoys sports I still was not a fan of the book at all.
