Crash by Lisa McMann (4/5)

Crash by Lisa McMann is a young adult novel that contains fantasy and romance. This book addresses topics such as courage, loneliness, loyalty, and perseverance.

The story is told from the perspective of a teenager named Jules. Jules’ family owns a pizza shop that is in a constant competition with Sawyer’s family’s pizza shop. Jules has had a crush on Sawyer for many years even though he ignores her at school and her parents forbid her from ever talking to or being friends with him. One day, Jules begins to see a vision from the future. In the vision, a snow-plow crashes into Sawyer’s restaurant and dead bodies are lying on the ground. When she “replays” the vision, she discovers that Sawyer is one of the dead bodies. Jules realizes that she has to figure out a way to stop the accident from happening and to save Sawyer and multiple other people’s lives.

This book was very entertaining. It kept the reader wanting to know what happens and if Jules manages to resolve the problem. Although it is fantasy fiction, it is relatable and connects in many ways to real life. The characters are friendly and funny.

This book was definitely worth reading. Anyone looking for a fast and action-packed novel should consider reading Crash.
