Eragon by Christopher Paolini (4.5/5)

The book Eragon is about a 15-year-old boy named Eragon living in the kingdom of Alagaësia in the year. This mysterious kingdom has many different things and creatures. But the most well-known were the dragons. And controlling those dragons were dragon riders that had a telepathic bond with each other. The “dragon riders” were the protectors of Alagaësia and brought peace and prosperity to the land. Eventually, they were overthrown by the tyrant King Galbatorix, and Alagaësia became a dangerous place. Eragon, a boy residing in the small town of Carvahall, goes on a hunting trip to feed his family. When he is there he discovers a strange rock that emerged with an explosion. Later, he realizes that the “rock" is a dragon's egg when it hatches. He forms a telepathic bond with a dragon that he names Saphira. Meanwhile, Alagaësia is becoming even more dangerous when creatures called the Ra Zac are going around searching for Saphira to kill her. Eragon then escapes from Carvahall and goes on a quest to reach safety and rebel against King Galbatorix to free Alagaësia. He faces many obstacles and hardships on the perilous quest to help determine the fate of Alagaësia.
