Fearless is a book about a Navy Seal Team Six Operator named Adam Brown. Adam was born to a good, very hard working, and not poor or wealthy family in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Adam’s parents put a bunch of good characteristics into Adam at a young age which included hard work and kindness to anyone. Larry, Adam’s father, gave an example of kindness to Adam when a kid was getting bullied in a playground and “If you don’t help, you’re no better than the bully” (Blehm 12). Adam would later do this by helping Richie, a kid with Down syndrome. Richie was being called names by three bullies, who were all bigger than Adam. Adam then stood in front of Richie and said, “you can pick on me--if you think you’re big enough” (Blehm 20). The bullies then left Richie alone. Adam played varsity football at Lake Hamilton High School where he prepared his team for a season that turned out way better than expected. He got his team
in good shape through some good old fashioned hard work. Adam was known to have gone off to parties which led to him sinking into a very dark hole filled with drugs. Adam’s first girlfriend out of High School got him addicted to any drug you can think of. Adam’s drug addiction got so bad he would steal stuff from anyone he knew or showed kindness to him and get drugs from the stolen goods. His girlfriend then broke up with him because Adam didn’t have the ability to get her any more drugs. Adam’s parents and new girlfriend Kelley became very spiritual. The introduction of God was able to get Adam out of his hole of darkness. Adam then enlisted into the military in order to become a Navy Seal. Adam passed and became a Seal through numerous setbacks that I won’t list because it would require a lot more writing. Adam was known for never giving up even if he accidentally stabbed himself in the face while traing for underwater demolition, developing arthritis in his feet, losing his dominant eye in a training accident, and basically losing his dominant hand’s fingers in a Humvee accident. Adam Brown went to then to go to one of the hardest shooting programs sniper school with his nondominant eye. Adam passed. Adam with his many liabilities still was able to get on Seal Team 6 which is the Best of the Best of the U.S. soldiers. Navy Seals and Navy Seal Team 6 are considered to be the best warriors to ever see the Earth. This book is so inspirational because of the persistence of Adam. He just never quit even if he had tons of injuries. Adam could’ve let other people carry his burden but he never did that. He would instead carry their burdens. Adam would always volunteer for the hardest job on any mission so his teammates could have it easier. This book is a book of inspiration to be better than your current self and to always help others.
