Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling (4/5)

Wizards, witches, brooms, magic, and suspense are all very important in Harry Potter's world.

In the Harry Potter series, there is the main antagonist named Voldemort and a boy named Harry who tries to stop him at all costs. Harry grew up in a normal non-magical home but on one of his birthdays, he received letters saying that he should attend a Wizards and Witches school called Hogwarts. Harry makes friends at his new school and gets close with a teacher named Hagrid. Over the series, a bond between Harry, Hermione, and Ron forms and they team up to help solve the problems.

In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Harry finds out about his past and starts attending Hogwarts. At his new school, he makes his new best friends, Ron and Hermione. Together they find out how and why Voldemort killed Harry's parents and they try to stop him by getting the sorcerer's stone. Leading up to the final chapters Voldemort attempts to attack Harry several times and kill him. A professor named Snape also puts a hex on Harry turning the competitive quidditch game into a game based on survival.

This book is very good and the thrill never ends following Harry and his adventures. However, if you don't like magic and adventure this book is not for you. Overall, this book has been one of my favorites and I cannot wait to keep the series going.
