Harry Potter AND THE SORCERER’S STONE by J.K. Rowling is the first book in the famous book series, “Harry Potter ''. The book is fiction so it's based in a fantasy land with witches, wizards, trolls, and other mythical creatures. Still, the author also plays in the sports category by having Harry Potter play one of the most famous games in the fantasy land called “Quidditch '' Harry Potter AND THE SORCER’S STONE is filled with magic. Still, it is mainly written on plot-twisting events so the reader won't know what's to come next. The main character Harry Potter will have to face all the challenges that the school puts up to him but he will also try to figure out what Voldermort is up to.
The book is very deceiving in a way that makes the reader want to read more. One of the many authors who had a comet on the book that I agree with is “USA TODAY” and they have been writing daily newspapers and broadcasting since 1982 and they said, ”You don't have to be a wizard or a kid to appreciate the spell cast by Harry Potter'' I completely agree with this because I'm not a wizard and I love the book I wanted to keep reading to see what happens next. Another author I have to agree with is the “Seattle Times''. They have been printing newspapers since 1891 and they said that” The huge cast of characters, set against a fantastic backdrop with good doses of action, humor and fun, will surely captivate.” I couldn't agree more because this book captivated me on the first page due to the way J.K. Rowling describes Harry Potter's Aunt and Uncle. But one of the authors I disagree with is The Boston Sunday Globe which writes newspapers for New England and they said,” A glorious debut, a book of wonderful comic pleasures and dizzying imaginative flights.” I disagree with this because there is a lack of comedy in the book but rather more mystery or even deception. This book raises a possibility of bad Foster parents due to the Durselys having Harry sleep in a tiny closet and the fact that they treated him poorly. Digging deeper the book even tells us that “Every year on Dudley's birthday, his parents took him and a friend out for the day, to adventure parks, hamburger restaurants, or the movies. Every year, Harry was left behind,”(Pg22) which truly shows us how foster parents can favor their child over one adopted. This book affected me due to me seeing how people can be mistreated poorly and that you should cherish even the little things given to you in life. My opinions never changed in this book due to the main reason this book was fiction and did not give me heartbreaking facts. This book is related to my daily schedule due to the both of us having to go to school every day.
For all potential future readers, I firmly recommend you read this book and read this one before any of the rest of the book due to this being the first book in the series. The book is good for new readers and even advanced readers. If you decide to read this book I hope you liked it as much as I did.
