This book talks about a group of nine kids(the Garde) who have escaped with their lives and their guardians. They have traveled from the planet Lorien to Earth. The reason they had to leave is because their planet was raided by the Mogadorians for its resources. The kids are numbered one through nine, that order being the order the Mogadorians are forced to hunt them down in. The first book of this series starts from the perspective of Number Four, after Numbers One and Two have been killed. Shortly into the book, Number Three is killed, and Four’s life is now on the line. He flees Florida with his Cepan(guardian). They run to Paradise, Ohio, where Four finally meets people he trusts. Towards the end of the book, Four and some other allies fight the Mogadorians, and what happens is continued in the rest of the series. This book was recommended to me by a waiter at a restaurant, and after reading it, I fell in love with the series and bought the rest of the books. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to have a fantasy, sci-fi fight to the death kind of book. This book and series is definitely one of my favorite reads I have read, and I feel like it is sort of a book that I am surprised more people have not heard of/read.
