In the fantasy book, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Battle of The Labyrinth, the author Rick Riordan uses the theme of good vs. evil to display Percy fighting off the corrupt lord Kronos. This series is about a half-blood, Percy who is the son of Poseidon, the Greek sea god. He constantly battles monsters and gods who don’t want him alive because he is a threat. In this particular story, he goes into this maze called The Labyrinth to stop an invasion on Camp Half-blood, a place where people like him train to become heroes. This torrent is called on by Kronos, the father of all gods. He and his army want to break into camp, so they could control all of Olympus falling.
My overall reaction to the book was that it was interesting and made you want to keep reading to see what happens. The author displayed characters in a way that I felt was agreeable like Luke, a former friend of Percy who betrayed him. Although, it was unexpected considering that Luke was training Percy to fight. In conclusion, I feel this book is great for readers that love the suspense a story brings.
