Pretty Little Flaws by Jennifer Ann Shore (4/5)

Dealing with loss can affect everyone in different ways; for some, it takes over your life. But with some love and friendship, it’s possible to overcome anything. The main character in Pretty Little Flaws is a high school senior, and she is grieving from a recent family death. With this death, she finds comfort in a new hobby, soccer, friendship, and love. Her brother recently died, and she learns how to move past it after going through the steps of grievance. She works to get back parts of her old life while moving forward. I think the author did a good job adding suspense and imagery. I think the emotions of the main character could have been expressed deeper and more thoroughly. In all, this was a good, easy read that established the theme of resiliency. Pretty Little Flaws would be a great book for individuals interested in simply sitting by the pool relaxing and reading.
