Starless Night by R.A. Salvatore (4/5)

Starless Night, a fantasy novel by R.A. Salvatore dives deep into how your past can affect your future. This story mostly takes place in the Underdark which is a whole world under the surface world. It follows the leading character known as Drizzt as he ventures through his old dark homeland in order to protect the survival of his friends. I would consider this book very entertaining because of how many action scenes there are throughout the story, to me there is never a dull moment. I agree with how the author portrays Drizzt as a hero that is willing to do anything as that embodies Drizzt and the person he is. However, I disagree with some of the choices Drizzt makes as a hero because there are always other options than what Drizzt thinks he must do. With Drizzt the possibilities are endless; he can wield any weapon and use it to its maximum potential. I have read many novels by this author and this one surpasses many of them because of the person Drizzt is and how he makes every character have meaning and a story that comes full circle. I think overall this book was a solid 4 mostly due to the fact that it has many twisting storylines and incredible action scenes. My advice to future readers is to not look for the small things the author overlooked but to consider everything the author did right.
