The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey is a self-help book that includes a series of non-fiction stories to discuss mistakes and successes experienced by people in the past. This is to demonstrate and discuss the situation and used to provide an example of how people reacted to certain situations. The theme of the novel is to never give up and always use the seven habits throughout your life. The habits are discussed with great depth in each chapter. This is followed with personal narratives to further convey the idea. Each chapter focuses on covering one habit and is applied to each habit ahead of it. The novel is “sequential” and each chapter “builds on the last” (Covey 9). The book is constructive and interesting since it provides advice on how to be more organized, efficient and a more pleasant person in general. I agree with all the habits since it demonstrates how it can impact yourself. Online articles of organizing yourself include some of the information stated in the book, which supports the facts stated in the book. The book changed the way I study, work on assignments, the way I think when I interact with people, and finding a balance between my tasks. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens states key habits, explains why the habits are useful by providing non-fiction stories by real people. It gives advice on how teens can improve the way you manage tasks, improve your relationships with people, make smarter decisions, and become a more pleasant and efficient person in general. It is intended to help you even if you’re not struggling that much in your life.
