The Diamond of Darkhold by Jeanne DuPrau 4/5

Ever wonder what you would do if you ever were in a situation where you had nobody to rely on? The novel, The Diamond of Darkhold, by Jeanne DuPrau is the fourth book in the series of Ember. Two kids Doon and Lina are the main characters of this book and have to figure out key information about the City of Ember after they went through trouble to escape the place they once called home. After leaving Sparks, a city that the two kids and the other citizens of Ember came across, they manage to go back to Ember alone to find out secret information they didn't know about before. When split up in the dark, Doon is met with other people, who were not citizens of Ember. At that moment, Doon had time to ask himself if these people were friends or foe and if they had any information about the city. I, as a reader, thought that the third book of Ember went along with the other two and had a big lead up to the end. It was very fun to read and would surprise the reader at the most unexpected parts of the novel. Overall the book has many plot twists and is a very good book for people that like science fiction novels. I do recommend paying close attention because every detail is essential for all four books.
