The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien (4/5)

Bilbo Baggins has lived a quiet and peaceful life in a hole for all his life, as he is a hobbit, a race of small people who are smaller than humans and love themselves some peace and quiet. But that peace and quiet is broken once Gandalf arrives to persuade Bilbo to go on a new adventure with 13 accomplices, who are all dwarves. The dwarves are going on a quest to reclaim the lonely mountain from the dragon Smaug. Bilbo is very against leaving his comfortable life and going on an adventure but Gandalf convinces Bilbo and the dwarves that Bilbo is a bit more special than anything.

The fantasy adventure element of this book really made it stand out from the crowd of other popular titles. The book has great character development focusing around Bilbo Baggins. It may start out slow, but it reaches a great climax with the book being quite interesting and memorable. J.R.R Tolkien has done a very good job of making this book descriptive for the reader to enjoy it even more.

This book was a great read and I highly recommend it to anybody that likes fantasy. Tolkien puts in specific descriptions to put the reader in the fantasy world of The Hobbit and the environment around it. You will find this book to have a great narrative following the adventure of Gandalf, the dwarves, and Bilbo Baggins
