Thomas, a 16 year old boy stripped of his memories except his first name , wakes up in a foreign area. He lives in a place called glade which is surrounded by a maze with 100 foot high walls. The place only has boys up to the age of 18 and they only remember their first name.Eventually they escape the maze but there are only 18 survivors. It is later revealed that it was all staged by an organization called WICKED, Which is searching for a cure for the flare. The flare is a virus that was caused by a massive solar flare.The Maze Runner is extremely descriptive about everything causing good imagery. It also conveys how the main characters gain better relationships. A drawback would be how it is rushed near the end of the book as if the author wanted to move on. Overall it is an amazing book and I advise people who love dystopian books to read it.
