This story is from the point of view of the sister of the main character from the Court of Thorns and Roses series. It also takes place after that original series. The sister had isolated herself so much by the beginning of the story, that the sister, Feyre, tried to help her get out of the hill she dug herself into. Nesta, the main character of this book, was to be taken out of her current home, which was a messy apartment, and taken to a secret house in a mountain, called The House of Wind. She was to be taken care of by Cassian, one of the other major characters in this book. He is a warrior and right hand man to Feyre’s mate/husband. At first it didn’t go well but they get along better by the end of the story, eventually realizing they are each other’s mate. Nesta also finds two friends and they are very close. They train together, and talk to each other about everything. Nesta proves to everybody that she can be a good person and that she is very strong. She helped her friends overcome a great challenge that proved just how strong the three of them had become.
I honestly really enjoyed the book and I would definitely recommend this story. I think Sarah J. Maas did a really good job of keeping it engaging and interesting. It had a good ratio of moments from happy and excited to sad and low motivation. There were some really good parts of the book that surprised me because it was the opposite of what I thought would happen. There were also some parts in the book that I thought people could relate to. Those parts were the times when people’s feelings in the story were a lot like what many people feel today. Whether it was sadness but turned to motivation or just genuine enjoyment of life and happiness.
I think the book is really enjoyable and that a lot of people would enjoy it. What I would say though is if you think the book is getting boring and you could find a more enjoyable book, just read 30 more pages because the book gets boring and then all of a sudden, you get to a part and you can’t stop reading.
