A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (4/5)

Is an 18-year-old stellar student really capable of the murder of his girlfriend and suicide? Pippa Fitz-Amobi disagrees. A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson is a book about proving the innocence of the dead and persevering while others try to push you down. The setting takes place. It tells a story set 5 years after the murder-suicide of Sal Singh when Pippa decides to take the case into her own hands and find the truth. She never believed Sal was capable of murder and her senior capstone project was the perfect opportunity to learn more. As she gets closer to the truth, though, she realizes someone doesn’t want her to investigate any further. This book is a great demonstration of prejudice in a community, injustice, and the dark side of high-school drama. It is a captivating mystery that is definitely a page-turner. While this book was definitely captivating and an interesting topic, it was nothing groundbreaking. I would recommend it to any mystery lover but just keep in mind it is pretty simple and nothing too altering. I really enjoyed it and it was a fun easy read. In conclusion, this book is perfect for any fan of crime, and mystery, with a hint of teen drama. It was relatable at times and truly a fun, exciting read.
