A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson became The #1 New York Times Bestseller. Five years ago there was a murder reported in the small town of Fairview. Andie Bell, a pretty popular high school senior was reported to be murdered by her boyfriend at the time Sal Singh who later killed himself. Yet her body was never found. Now to the present day appears Pip who is a senior herself has to decide what to do for her final project. She begins to look into problems around her town and finds herself solving the case of Andie Bell. She begins to wonder why the police dropped the case when they haven’t solved it. Maybe the boyfriend was innocent all along. With the help of Sal’s brother and many other people throughout the town Pip could not have solved this murder by herself. She finds herself looking far beyond Andie Bell and discovering the truth about her that nobody knew about. Not even her boyfriend or family. Not one single person. Pip starts from the beginning talking to Andie's teachers trying to find out what she’s like expecting to hear incredible stuff about the pretty popular girl takes a big turn. Pip Latr gets justice for the Singh family. Personally, I found myself a big fan of this book since I like crime movies or shows, such as Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, Murder Mystery, etc. It was nice to read about it instead o spending hours watching tv. However, the beginning of the story felt like a drag. A lot of background, and unneeded information about the main character Pip: also, the author convinces the reader that someone may be the murderer, but there is a huge plot twist in the end. The audience will not see it coming. I find that to be the best part of the book and it’s worth the wait. The idea of this book that a reader can pick up is to trust the process. Pip hit many bumps on the road but they all led her to the end. If you are into crime or solving murders I believe this is a really good book choice. Additionally, if you finished and enjoyed this book, there is a sequel called Good Girl, Bad Blood.
