A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman (4/5)

A Man Called Ove is a story about a man who lives in a typical suburban neighborhood somewhere in Europe. He is very irritable and prefers to keep to himself, but his neighbors continually need assistance or offer assistance from/towards him. I don’t want to give away any details about the characters as the book has a beautiful way of introducing characters and past anecdotes. The way it is written makes it very emotional at times, and it's able to bring out that emotion in the reader, I found. This book was honestly a lot better than I thought it would be. It was charming and well written and the jumping timeline type storyline works really well with the structure of the story. There are good comedic moments and a lot of heartfelt moments as well. I would recommend this to someone looking for a good book that isn’t too challenging to read. It’s a good story to read bits of before you go to bed, and the story just has a very cozy feeling to it.
