A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin (4/5)

This coming-of-age story follows a boy, Ged, given the ability to harness magic and utilize it at birth. Nobody would think that this scrawny boy would be able to protect his village from armored warriors with actual magic. But using all that magic isn’t easy, requiring healing, Ged lays in his village until a master wizard arrives and heals him. Telling him that once he reaches manhood, he will take him as an apprentice. Once that sought after day arrives, Ged finally begins his journey to truly harness his magic abilities

This enjoyable fantasy story allows you to experience the world and get put into the perspective of the main character slowly without feeling sluggish. The pacing of this story is definitely great and doesn’t make you feel annoyed. The world building purposely leaves out some details making you yearn for more information and overall giving you an enjoyable read about this interesting world and its own elements.

I very much recommend this book to any follower of fantasy. This 1st establishment allows you to explore a whole different world and understand it in detail with world building that easily sets you up for the sequels to continue closely following all the intricacies within this coming-of-age story.
