Adventurers Wanted Slathbog´s Gold by M.L. Forman (4.5/5)

The book Slathbog's Gold by M.L. Forman was a great read. It is about an orphan named Alex, who lives with his stepdad and stepbrother. His stepdad seems to always be mad at him, but not because he is a bad father, but because Alex is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. Him and his stepdad had never really bonded, and his stepbrother is always accidentally getting Alex in trouble. All his life Alex had always thought that he was missing something, besides his parents, and that there was more to life than just working at his dad´s pub. So one day he goes out into a bookshop because he sees a sign and his life changes forever. Alex in the end makes many new friends from interesting places and has made a fortune along the way. He also finds something out about his father and stepfather that he would have never in a million years believed, which makes Alex rethink his relationship with his stepdad and brings them closer together. This is a fantasy book, which has the stereotypical medieval creatures like dragons, trolls, and even bandits. I don't typically like fantasy books since they do not seem to bring very little to any insight to the world we live in today, but this book did. It helped me change the perspective that I see things in and ignited my imagination again from when I was younger. In other words it made me feel like a little kid again. I give this book a 4.5 stars out of 5. The only reason that I do not give this book a higher rating is that even though it does help re spark your imagination it fails to have me question our world today, which is what I like and look for in a book. But to anyone who enjoys fantasy books I would highly recommend this book and might even consider reading the rest of the series as well. Beware though this book might have you in a dangerous position on the edge of your seat, it might also cause you to become obsessed, and read for hours on end.
