And Eternity by Piers Anthony (3/5)

Piers Anthony’s And Eternity was a sufficient end to an exquisite series. The book, published in 1990, is the final entry to Anthony’s famous Incarnations of Immortality series in which the numerous plots and characters tie together as the ultimate battle between good and evil is fought. The novel orates a ghost Orlene’s quest to recover the soul of her baby and eventually intertwines her mission with the finding of a new Incarnation of Good.

And Eternity is a decent novel as a whole and serves its role as a conclusion to the plot rather well with the various stories of the series coming together cleverly in the end. Yet, despite its overall decency, the book pales in comparison to the other entries in the series. The novel lacks the overall creativity and mystery of On A Pale Horse and the devious nature of For Love of Evil. As such, I would recommend this novel if you are well-versed in the series as it does offer a sense of peace and finality to the plot, however, if you are not a fan of the Incarnations of Immortality series as a whole, this book is likely not for you.
