What would you do if your worst fear were to come true? This was exactly what happened to a mother of three named Laurel when she lost her youngest daughter with no explanation. It was said that she had run away and the case was dismissed but Laurel searches for answers throughout the novel and discovers the shocking truth of what happened to her “golden child”. This book was probably one of my favorites and was definitely something that I couldn't accurately predict the end of. The book stayed interesting as there was always something going on in the book. I loved how we get to see the story from different character perspectives. One critique however is that the “reveal” of what happened to the daughter was too anticlimactic and out of nowhere for me. I would give this book a 5/5 as its one of the books that kept me interested and was something that I wanted to continue to read.
