Animal Farm - George Orwell (5/5)

Animals Farm is essentially a giant personification that reflects communist governments and shows the behaviors of power-hungry authoritarian leaders. Animal Farms starts with a revolution, and a group of barnyard animals revolting against their enslaver. Animalism eventually spreads and independence is gained, with many flaws. The reader eventually realizes that their leader may be even worse than what they previously had, and after a series of injustices and inequalities, the animals fail to separate their pig leaders from their human slaveholders. I highly recommend Animal Farm as it provides a mature take on communist societies gone wrong. Animal Farm is great for fiction readers that have an interest in philosophical and governmental thoughts. Orwell’s take still stands to this day and parallels are continued to be seen.
