Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (5/5)

Aurora Rising is a book about seven teenagers, or if you want to be specific, six teenagers and one-two-hundred and nineteen-year-old girl in the Hadfield. The seven are placed on an impossible mission, right after graduating from a military academy, to defeat ancient power. There’s one catch, the evil they face has already infiltrated a powerful government that now has them pinned them as fugitives to the galaxy. This book, although hard to pick up on the space terms, was a great read with a bunch of lovable personalities. Kristoff and Kaufman write an amazing story of many highs and lows all of which having me sitting at the end of my seat eager for more. I feel like this book series can appeal to many readers because the story switches off between all squadmates, each contributing something unique to the book. If I were to tell future readers something about this book I would say that they should prepare to hear a ton of space terms, and most of the time you have to re-read a paragraph or two to really understand what it means.
