Crack! The ball soars over the fence while Josh jogs the bases and his teammates storm the field. He looks to the stands to see all of the audience cheering, except his own parents. This book involves the main character Josh, an all star baseball player who learned everything he knows from his ex MLB star father. It also involves his dad's new girlfriend and her son who is Josh’s annoying teammate. The book starts out with Josh practicing and his dad introduces him to his new “real estate friend”. But Josh knows what that means and soon gets the news from his real mom saying that she is splitting up with his dad. He has to put all of this to the side in order to focus on his new all star team to take them to the little league world series. He must also get along with his dad's friend who happens to be a girl's son, and doesn't want to tell his dad that he hates him. Will Josh overcome all of the struggles in his life to provide for his team? I really liked this book, especially because I've never heard of it and got it from the library. It was suspenseful yet predictable, but overall enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone within a certain audience. They have to understand baseball because there are a lot of important references.
