Blended by Sharon Draper (4/5)

Blended is a book about a girl named Isabella who lives between two worlds. Her father is African American and her mother is white, and they recently got divorced. She goes through the book wondering what her true identity is, and if she can finally have peace with herself.

I thought the book was good, it has good lessons in it and a lot of readers can learn about how others feel when they are mixed with different races. It also tackles divorce and how it feels for the children involved. I recommend this book for anyone who just wants an easy read. It’s nothing too heavy that someone can’t handle, but it definitely tackles the themes it presents well enough. This book has definitely helped me see issues between communities that I did not notice before and I really think it will help others in the future as well.
