Crazy Rich Asians is the first book of this satirical and romantic trilogy created by Kevin Kwan. This book follows a young woman named Rachel Chu who is an average millennial living in New York as a professor for NYU. Unbeknownst to her is her love interest reigning in nepotism and wealth, Nicholas Young, who she sees as an attractive young man and partner.

Personally, I love how this book is diverse in the genres it explores since it not only introduces the theme of love but comedy as the book progresses and we get to meet new characters that bring a lot of light into this book. Another one of my favorite aspects of this book is how you can follow different characters and learn lessons or pick your favorite aspects from each and every one of them. Gossip, secrets, and the importance of relationships are all things featured in this light-hearted
yet hysterical book.
A recent movie adaptation of this book was made in 2018 and in my opinion, goes more into depth about the issues touched on in this book. Gossip, miscommunication, and comedy were themes that were more emphasized in the movie. However, both were greatly executed for both types of audiences and I personally rate this book a solid 3.9/5.
