Dead Is The New Black by Marlene Perez (3/5)

Dead is the new black is a book about a girl named Daisy who grew up in a family with supernatural qualities which she hasn’t yet accesd. She balances helping solve supernatural problems with her mom, struggles with teenage drama, and rumors about where her dad really went. In this book Daisy realizes something was going on with her ex-best friend that eventually leads to the death of several people. In her journey to help her mom solve this case she reunites with an old friend and figures out something about herself no one would ever guess.

Overall I think this book had a lot of surprises along the way that had me on the edge of my seat. Out of the whole series this book was one of the most adventurous and thrilling books of them all. I do wish the author gave more description of the character's appearance and of Daisy’s dads unexpected disappearance. The truth is some people would prefer this book more than others, it really depends on your personal preference. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who likes non fiction, scary, or historical types of books.

In the end I would recommend Dead is the New Black if you wanted a fiction, fast read, or thriller book about a teenage girl growing up as a non psychic in a psychic family. The good thing about finding interest in this book is that there are over eight more in the ‘dead is’ series for you to enjoy. I would give this book an overall 3/5 since this book isn’t as inclusive for many different types of readers so it has a lower rate of interest, but personally I found this book to be interesting and entertaining.
