At the beginning of the book, the characters were required to pick a faction that they would stay with until death. Towards the middle, the main character, Tris, had to completely change her life from being super, selfless, and gentle to super, aggressive, and athletic. At the end of the book, she and the other factions began feuding with each other. When I was reading the book I wasn’t too surprised with the ending because it did not go into full detail about the factions. They barely begin fighting in the end.
