The Sci-Fi novel, Divergent, is mainly about a girl named Tris who has to make a decision that can impact her whole entire life, and it doesn't help that her aptitude tests turned out different than everyone else's. It is based in a future dystopian world where people are divided amongst five factions which determine your loyalties and whole lifestyle. The novel's greatest themes are choice and identity because each and every choice Tris had to make came with completely opposite outcomes, so even the smallest decision could affect her life greatly. This book was very intriguing and addicting, some aspects of the book really made me want to keep reading and reading which in my opinion is really important in a good book. The author differentiates each faction in the novel so she described their world as separated. In this world they judged people on what faction they were in, rather than what they have. So in a real life example, it could be judging someone based on what grades they have in school or how well they are in sports, not necessarily judging off of money and wealth. This aspect led to further issues throughout the novel. All in all, the novel, Divergent, was a very interesting book that brought up a lot about choices and how they can impact you and how others see you.
