The main characters of the book, Kendra and Seth Sorenson are faced with many challenges in the world of dragons. This book is the 2nd in the Dragonwatch series which is written by Brandon Mull. After the siblings ruined the plants of the Society of the Evening Star, the dragon king Zylas is released. This caused chaos over the world as Zylas is trying to make the world his again. The story is about the consequences and effects of Zylas’s freedom. His goal is to take control over the dragons again and wreak havoc on the world. Zylas and his fellow dragons get more aggressive and powerful, which got the attention of Kendra and Seth. The siblings and their allies have to stop him before he becomes the ruler of the world. During their fight they stumble across many quests and challenges. These quests tested their strengths, wits, courage, and teamwork. They are also in contact with magical forces and deadly monsters and creatures. Kendra learns the magic faster as she is the more careful one as Seth is still struggling. Along with Kendra and Seth they have a mentor, a centaur named Bracken, and other allies. The group's goal is to stop Zylas from taking over the world. They eventually find out that Zylas can be stopped with some magical artifacts and strategy. The featured item in this plan is the Dragon Orb which has the power to control dragons. They faced many challenges to get the Dragon Orb to work but eventually they are able to end Zylas’s wrath.
My reaction to the book was there were some unique moments where the story hits a dead end or becomes boring to read. However most of it was pretty interesting with the world of fantasy and dragons being involved. The book is one of the books that is boring at the start and has the end pretty fascinating. The main characters have some unique personalities that add more uniqueness to the story.
In conclusion, the book starts pretty boring at the start but gets more interesting as it goes on. The characters and the storyline have some very interesting moments. Some advice I would offer to readers is to read a certain amount of pages a day as you won't get bored of the book and it will make you find the book more entertaining.
