Dune follows Paul Atreides as the main character whose family is a part of a government that controls the whole galaxy. His family is sent to Arrakis, a barren wasteland to monitor over the extraction of the spice Melange which unlocks supernatural mind abilities and extended life. However his family’s relocation was a devious scheme planned by the head of the government to erase the family completely. The novel was incredibly read with it’s unique world-building and concepts that blow your mind. I highly recommend this novel to any science fiction lovers and anyone else, however I have to advise you to read the novel before watching the new Dune movie, I would argue that half the fun of reading Sci-Fi is imagining the contraptions.
