Every Summer After Review

If you like fun, light hearted romance books, Every Summer After by Carley Fortune is the book for you! This book takes place over the range of 12 years. One chapter will be the present, and the next chapter will be 12 years ago, 11 years ago, and so on until the book catches up to the present. Every Summer After is about the joyful relationship between Sam and Perpesphorone (Percy) and how they switch off and on between friends and lovers. One day when Percy is living in an apartment in the city, having the time of her life with her friends, she gets a call that requires her to go back to her family cottage, where she met Sam, whom she thought she'd never see again. She spends a total of six summers with Sam, just hanging out, keeping busy and working at their family owned restaurant: The Tavern. Percy and Sam became attached at the hip. Suddenly, regardless of how close they were, they had maybe become too close. Their friendship broke apart and they spent years away from each other. Then, Percy had to return to the cottage for Sam’s mothers funeral. Sam and Percy connected again, like they always have. She then questioned their relationship and pondered about the mistakes they had both made. What happens next? WIll you have to read the book in order to find out? Overall, I give this book a 4/5. It is very interesting and I never wanted to put it down. I felt attached to the book and like I was a character in the story. Even though it is amazing, I feel it was a bit repetitive and there wasn’t much of a varied storyline. The same events kept happening, and I feel like I read the same chapter about Percy and Sam multiple times. In conclusion, I recommend this book. It’s a great read and super interesting!
