You read the first few pages and are already clenching to the book worried about the life of the characters in the book. All of sudden you flip the page to realize it is all a dream…or is it? The book, Landing by T. J. Newman tells the story of Bill Hoffman, a pilot who goes on with his normal life when all of a sudden he finds out that his family has been taken hostage and will die if Bill does not crash the plane. With help from the flight attendants and the FBI, everyone is in a race against time to save the family and the plane. While reading, you are taken through the views of four main characters Bill Hofman, Bill's Wife, the flight attendant, and the FBI agent on the ground. Each person's point of view gives a different real-time side of the story so that the reader is able to get all sides of the story exactly when they are happening. As the story continues some flashbacks occur causing the characters to seem more human and giving the reader a deeper understanding of how they came to be the person they are now. The constant twist and turns with the story and the increasing stress of time running out keeps you invested on wondering what will happen next. A flaw that i will note is that the change on character points of view can sometimes be abrupt in a chapter making it sometimes confusing if you lose track. Although I loved how it was a quicker small book that is easy to read, the mystery and adventure suspense could have kept me going for longer. In all, I would definitely recommend this book for people who want a suspenseful mystery with a bunch of action.
