Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (5/5)

Hello potato enjoyers, my name is Wesley, and today I will be reviewing a beloved book that I have finally found the time to enjoy. The book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It is the fifth best-selling non-religious book of all time with 120 million copies sold. It details the journey of a young boy named Harry potter, who is taken from his “muggle” (non magic) relatives to attend a wizarding school named Hogwarts. Throughout the novel, he goes on lots of adventures with some of his newfound friends, and in the process, he learns of his parents, who perished at the hands of the evil Lord Voldemort. It is a fun, fast paced fantasy novel. Each chapter is like it’s own small adventure, with plot twists at every corner. It is as much of a page turner as any book could possibly be. This book incorporates many different areas of literature, namely coming of age, where Harry comes into the story as a juvenile boy who knows nothing, and leaves a much more mature, intelligent wizard who completed his first of seven years at Hogwarts. Along with that, the novel incorporates elements of sport, through means of the wizard sport “Quidditch”. In this fictitious sport, players ride broom sticks, and try to throw the “quaffle” into the opponents rings. There is also balls called bludgers that try to hit the players. Finally, there is one person called the seeker, who tries to catch a small flying ball, called the golden snitch, which ends the game. Harry is a very skilled seeker, which lands him on a team. I had one of the best experiences I have ever had reading a book while reading this book. It was so enjoyable, and as I said earlier, it is a real page turner. In conclusion, it is one of the best pieces of literature ever produced. It is definitely one of, if not the best book released in the last 50 years. If I were to read it again, I would try to read it all at once, because I put it down for a few weeks in the middle, and I had to re-read some of the parts because I forgot some of the major plot points. Other than that, It was one of the best books I have ever read.
