Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi (5/5)

This novel takes place post-battle at Omega Point, where many lives were lost. Juliette finds herself with Andreson, Warner’s father. Then he shoots her in her chest and leaves to go back to The Capitol. Later, once Juliette has healed, Warner takes her back to the remains of Omega Point, where Kenji catches them and starts to shoot at them. After Warner vanishes, Juliette dumps everything that has occurred between her and Warner. Then, Kenji brings Juliette back to Adam’s house, Juliette’s ex-boyfriend. There, she finds out about the survivors of the battle, there are nine. Adam gets into an argument with Juliette, leading her and seven of the survivors to go back to the military base where Warner lives. They have to work together to overthrow The Reestablishment despite their hatred towards Warner. Additionally, they want to kill Andreson and take revenge on him for all of the damage to Omega Point and the hundreds of thousands of people he has murdered.

I love the Shatter Me Series! Honestly, Ignite Me had a lot of twists and drama in it, making it entertaining for the audience. This novel is definitely my favorite of all six books, so far at least.I really enjoyed the characters' personalities, their character development, and how Juliette handles the grief and a love triangle all at once. The major plot twists, romance, and drama forced me to stop and think about what I had read, leaving my jaw on the floor!

Overall, Ignite Me is a very entertaining read, especially if you love drama, suspense, and some jaw-dropping cliffhangers! Despite being a YA romance book, it is not as cheesy as it would seem. Ignite Me is packed with tons of plot twists and juicy drama! To future readers of the Shatter Me Series or Ignite Me, I recommend reading the novels slowly. Mafi conveys a lot of Juliette’s thoughts and feelings with repetition, strike-throughs, and lots of metaphors. These will force you to slow down, so take your time to get to know Juliette! Additionally, really getting to know the characters, and knowing who is who when they move around is helpful!
