Review: I would say this book was a pretty good read. Although I thought the book was kind of cheesy it actually really captivated my attention. After every chapter, I would love to see what would happen next in the story. Even though it was somewhat of a romance novel, it was actually full of fantasy elements that really brought the characters out. How Shields really incorporated a wide broad of vocabulary and sentence structures really captivates the storyline of each character. At first, when I started reading the book, it was very eye-catching and very exciting to read. But, as the book continued, it got confusing for a bit since there were some flaws in the description of what was really going on to the characters at specific moments in the book. Towards the middle, the book started to become more understandable since Shields put more explanation on what the actual situation is supposed to be. So from my experience of reading the novel is that the story sort of dragged a bit at the beginning, but then brought it together towards the middle. Personally, the way the characters were described was not that broad. It was hard for me to imagine how the characters looked because there were very few descriptions about how the characters should look like. Also, I feel like the way that Wyldcliff was described was lacking some description that could really bring in the audience like they were actually in the same shoes as the main character Evie. Other than that, the book was very entertaining to read and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Even though this book had some flaws to it, it is an excellent read for readers that love fantasy novels with a hint of romance. I gave this book a 4 because there can be more detail in the way the characters were displayed and also the way the plot was made. But other than that, I would highly recommend this book to read.
