It by Stephen King (3/5)

I hated the book It. It is a book written by very known author Stephen King, who many refer to as the “King of horror books”. The book takes place in 1984-1985 but since the characters very very often have flashbacks it could be argued that it takes place in 1957-1958 as well. It is about a group of characters known as The Losers' Club (Lieberher, Ray Taylor, Lillis, Wolfhard, Oleff, Jacobs, and Dylan Grazer) (and yes that’s right there isn’t really a main character but main characters) that have to face again the main villain/monster known as It or “Pennywise the dancing clown”. Which is a villain/monster who feeds off of the children in the town and their fears. The story goes through their whole lives, adults and children trying to defeat the It and learning about themselves and improving their characters along the way. Now for my thoughts, I think this book is horrible since it is so incredibly long and there are so many names and little details that you are almost overwhelmed in the book with all this info which most of it isn’t necessarily the plot. Although I could see people very thoroughly enjoying this book if you love long reads and details to get immersed into the world of the book, personally it’s not for me. In summary I hated this book with a passion since it was so incredibly long and at times very boring, but I could recommend it to some friends since they are the type to read in their free time and love books and even long reads.
