It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover (4/5)

At the beginning of this novel, Lily starts at her dad's funeral, she did not agree with what her dad did in his life, nor did she even think about speaking at his funeral. She was the mayor's daughter, the daughter of two well-known and successful parents. She had not always had the easiest life, she always had to look picture-perfect and act a certain way to present well to citizens and other people of her town. But being the outgoing girl that she was, she decided to ruin that reputation and sleep with a homeless boy.

After college, she decided to move to Boston. Her dad's funeral had not gone too well. She does not want to talk about it, so instead she goes to her favorite rooftop of all of Boston. Usually, she is all alone up there, but today there was a man, a very attractive man. He did not notice her at first so she sat down quietly. Lily started a conversation, he said his name was Ryle, he’s a neurosurgeon, and he has had very many one-night stands. He told her anytime she would like to sleep with him he is available. They started telling each other naked truths until he got angry and started kicking and punching at a chair. She left soon after that. Lily had always been creative and she loved gardening. She decided to start her own floral shop called Lily Blooms which not only was her full name but a perfect name for her floral shop. Once she started hiring people she soon met her best friend Alyssa. The girls decided only the floralshops theme to be unique and sort of edgy. One night after hanging out with Alyssa she soon met her husband, he was with another man. It was Ryle. She tried not to notice how amazing he looked in his scrubs. Ryle told Lily that she was different, he could not get her out of his head, and that she is like poison. They started telling each other their naked truths, she told him how her dad was abusive to her and her mother, and he told her his brother died when they were little. Also, he is Alyssa's brother. That caused issues.

The couple immediately fell in love and got married only to find out he was abusive just like her father. Had had thrown her downstairs, bit her, and slammed her head into the floor. Soon after, she reunited with her high school love interest Atlas, only to feel those same feelings she felt for him as her tenth-grade self. She soon finds herself pregnant with Ryles's baby. After she had the baby, she decided it was best for her daughter to not grow up in the same situation she did as a child, so she divorced Ryle to keep her feelings and her daughter safe.

This book was a page-turner for sure! Not like a mystery, but it was suspenseful, and I always felt like I needed to keep reading to make sure I knew what happened next. I felt like I was right there with Lily as she was going through difficult things in her life. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves romance novels. This book is definitely for the more mature readers. This is a quick and easy read, so you do not need to set out a lot of time to read it! Enjoy!
