Romance is an amazing genre that provides empathy and joy from the feelings that are shown between the characters. It makes you want to be in that character's shoes as well as feel the emotions that they are feeling. Lucky in Love is not about whether Maddie's money will run out or not, but how money and popularity changed her relationships with people. One night for her birthday, she decides to buy a lottery ticket. A couple of days later she scratches it and sees she won 50 million dollars. She decides to give her mom, dad, and brother money to spend on anything they like. Along with that, she has been struggling financially to find ways to afford college other than scholarships. An interviewer wants to see her but does not want people to know that she won, so she respectfully declines the interview. However a couple of days later everyone at school starts being nice to her and later realizes that the news about her winning came out. She didn’t want to tell Seth, a friend she knows from work until she felt ready because she didn’t want him to view her differently just because she now has a lot of money. She starts to doubt her friends and begins to question who told the interviewer that she won. Her life has now changed, but was it worth it? I thought this book was well-organized and well-written. I thought it was relatable in terms of financial, mental, and emotional. I honestly thought the order/sequence of events well well planned and I love how it gives love a good theme and a positive outlook. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and give this book a 4/5.
