Magnus Chase: Sword of Summer (5/5)

You wake up on your 16th birthday but instead of having a celebration, you find out that a huge fire giant came to New York to challenge you for a rusty old sword you find in a river-and you die. Magnus Chase: Sword of Summer is the first book in a series created by Rick Riordan. The story takes place in Boston, Massachusetts following the main character, Magnus, through his journey after death. Learning that he is the son of a Viking god, Magnus embarks on a mission with his friends to save the world from utter annihilation. Fenris, the immortal and all-powerful wolf, is attempting to break free shaking the 9 worlds. The determination of Magnus and his followers takes them down a thrilling journey to try and protect those that they love. This book is very enticing and well thought out. It is perfect for those who like fiction mixed with a bit of mythology. I personally love the twists and suspense in the story leading me on and on about what is going to happen next. It feels as if you are on the journey with them and are there in the first person. The lighthearted jokes and intriguing chapter titles make this book unique and fun for a wider audience. Overall, this book is a masterpiece that is sure to feed your hunger for a great story. If you like fiction, if you like mythology, and if you like a book that keeps the language easy to read, this is the book for you!
