Paper Towns by John Green (5/5)

Michaela G.

You would never think that finding a dead body in a park would bond two people, but for Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman, the sight of a dead man brought them closer as friends. In the young-adult book, Paper Towns, by John Green, Quentin Jacobsen is a senior in high school and is about to graduate, but ever since he was little, he has had a crush on his neighbor and friend, Margo Roth Spiegelman. One night, Margo comes to Quentin’s window and asks him to join her on an all-nighter to seek revenge on her friends. After their night comes to an end, Quentin goes to school the next day to find out that Margo is now missing. With the help of the clues that Margo left for him, Quentin searches for Margo hoping to find her again.

I really enjoyed this book because it had a lot of unexpected plot twists and cliffhangers. The book had me on the edge of my seat, wanting to read more. I also really liked this book because it had a lot of character development and it felt that you were part of the story and were changing with the characters. Paper Towns also discusses how you should be different and not conform to everyone else. John Green teaches readers to express themselves and not be afraid to be different from everyone else.

I would definitely recommend this book to readers who like a mystery. I really liked this book and it taught me a lot of lessons about expressing yourself, which I will take into my everyday life. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to young-adult readers.
