Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (4/5)

This boy named Percy Jackson has never fit in anywhere he’s lived or been to school. He constantly has to move around and change schools. He is being chased by something unknown, when all of a sudden a monster attacks their car and he is forced into a camp where he finally fits in. He realized he fits in here because like him everyone there is a child of a specific Greek God. Percy goes to this camp and finds out about his powers and abilities and gets trained to fight and defend himself. He is later deemed as the chosen one for this quest to retrieve Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt which is an ancient weapon capable of unimaginable terror. I think this book is very well written mainly because of the power the words hold and the images they create. The vivid imagery created from the word choice of the author allowed me to create these beautiful yet terrifying images in my head. I would really recommend this book if you're into Greek mythology and fantasy with a little action. I would even recommend this book to people who like superheroes or supernatural abilities.
