Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (5/5)

Project Hail Mary, written by Andy Weir, is an engaging and suspenseful rollercoaster. With a comical blend between thriller and sci-fi, Andy weir teaches us the importance of treading your path without giving up. Twelve light-years from earth, in the Tau Ceti solar system, there lies an unaffected star. Stranded in the middle of deep space, doctor Rayland Grace wakes from a medically induced comatose state. He soon realizes that his memories are foggy, and he is alone, with nothing but two corpses for company. As Dr. Grace learns and explores his surroundings, faint memories call out to him, and he begins to remember. To save the planet they call home, he and his team set out on the adventure of a lifetime. I loved reading Project Hail Mary. This book constantly kept me intrigued and ruminating on why specific events occurred. From Andy Weir's background as a software engineer who loved aerospace and other mind-bending science, his style of implementing realistic concepts and ideas leads to a believable story about the potential future of earth. Another reason this book hooked me was the intriguing character ark of the protagonist. As his amnesia fades, we look at Doctor Grace's past as if the audience is learning new information alongside him. As the book concludes, it leaves you begging for more. Without a doubt, Project Hail Mary is my top 2021 book, it was an awesome read, and I'd highly recommend this novel to anyone looking to start a breathtaking story.
