In a close to diseased world, Juliette Ferrars seems to be chosen for a new order of a new world, but refuses to be any part of it. Shatter me by Tahereh Mafi indulges in a unique dystopian world while young adults find romance and their morals. Juliette has a power that causes her to be perceived as evil, because of this she was locked up for almost three years. Warner, the ‘boss’ of the new order chooses her to lead them through the calamity of war and find peace once again. Although this was not her choice, she fights for her freedom until the end of the book. I personally did not enjoy this book. I heard great recommendations from other people but I found it to be very repetitive throughout the dialogue of the main character and it was very predictable. The personality of the main character did not intrigue me in any way, it felt like a basic main character. I wouldn’t recommend this book unless you like predictable books. This is the first book to a six book series, they may get better but as for the first book, not my favorite at all.
